I just had a chat with a local news journalist that just came off the phone with the Zoological Society. There is still a high chance Gonzo will be "put to sleep".
I understand from what the experts have advised on the live BBC broadcast on the web, a whale in this state can survive for several days. It is purely speculative to assume anything before the results of the blood tests are known.
They should take him back out to sea and let him go. It is highly arrogant to assume we have the right to euthanise him. On what basis would blood samples justify this? When does being tired and hungry mean that one no longer has the right to live?

GET HIM BACK WHERE HE BELONGS AND LET NATURE TAKE ITS COURSE.
Who are we to say if he lives or not. This really annoys me.

Nature's course led him to be stranded up a dirty river, away from its habitat with nothing to eat. That is no way to die either.
